ScholarChip’s Visitor Management solution is a critical component of ScholarChip's comprehensive school identity, safety and accountability platform. It is distinguished from other visitor management applications by the breadth of its features, the robustness of its implementation and the depth of its integration with the rest of the product line and district IT infrastructure. The ScholarChip Visitor Management system quickly captures new visitor information and checks the person against the school's prohibited or escort required database. The system recognizes returning visitors, temporary staff and contractors and quickly issues a paper label visitor pass. A hard card or key fob can be issued to volunteers or regular visitors. Schools can also choose to run a sex offender status search for visitors using ScholarChip's comprehensive, national database. At the school or district's discretion, key administrators or resource officers are instantly notified via email, text or phone call should an offender or prohibited person seek entrance.

Many of the application’s advanced features such as Single Sign-On, Remote Monitoring and Management and its SIS Integration are valued by large districts looking for an enterprise-class product. ScholarChip’s Visitor Manager is perhaps the only enterprise-class application built from the ground up for the K-12 market and allowing for such rapid implementation, effective operation, and comprehensive training.
Available in both desktop and wheeled kiosk form factors, the ScholarChip Visitor Management application operates in two distinct modes: operator-managed and self-service. The custom ergonomic form factor is both attractive and rugged for schools with a variety of entrance configurations, including vestibules and other high security applications. Through the Visitor Manager’s intuitive interface and high-speed I/O devices, the device nearly instantaneously scans all 50 state-issued drivers licenses in order to populate visitor information. Unlike some competitors, ScholarChip relies on a two-dimensional barcode scan for quick and error-free processing of visitor information. Visitor photos are captured upon registration and can be updated as frequently as district policy would dictate. The data features of ScholarChip’s Visitor Management application have no parallel in the industry. ScholarChip builds and maintains its own high-accuracy sex offender database from the publicly available records of 55 distinct entities. This data is refreshed frequently – often in as few as 6-8 weeks – much faster than traditionally available state-run systems. ScholarChip also provides interfaces to volunteer verification systems and supports the upload of pre-verified volunteers. ScholarChip’s Student Pick-Up feature is unique in the industry and provides an additional layer of student safety increasingly valued in large districts. ScholarChip’s integration with the Student Information System allows for import of the student pick-up authorization list while providing an interface so schools can build their own. Contactless smart FOBs or hardware tokens can be issued for visitor check-in in lieu of a driver’s license. ScholarChip smart IDs can be read in order to track late arrivals, staff location, and time clock. Manual search and PIN-enabled lookup are available for those without a smart ID. In addition to in-school hardware, ScholarChip’s Visitor Management solution provides a powerful portal that allows for the viewing of visitor information, visitor entries, reporting, and the creating of custom alerts as well as visitor pre-approval. The portal (visitor.scholarchip.com) has enterprise-class functionality important for implementation across large districts. Single Sign-On (SSO) integration is available for both Active Directory (SAML) and PowerSchool. The SSO assists in rapid implementation, easy integration and training, and ongoing secure operation. An interesting feature of the visitor portal is that it can also operate as a visitor station with either manual data entry, or with the addition of a hardware scanner and printer – thus further enhancing the safety footprint of the district.
